Our Story
Hop Brook Counseling Center was founded in 2014 by Kimberly O’Connor, MS, LMFT. Kimberly’s goal was to build a practice that would provide services to individuals and families in a warm and supportive environment by highly skilled and compassionate providers. Since its inception, Hop Brook has grown to include 2 locations, over 20 licensed providers, has expanded services to include medication management and has provided services to thousands of clients across the state.
Hop Brook Counseling Center was named after the bubbling brook, “Hop Brook” that streamed past the first office location in Middlebury, CT. A second office was opened in New Britain, CT in 2016 and after several years of service in New Britain, the office was relocated to a larger building in Southington. Most recently, we bid farewell to the brook that gave us our name and relocated our Middlebury location to a more spacious office in downtown Southbury, CT.
Kimberly has been committed to thoughtfully growing the practice to meet the needs of the community and hopes to continue to do so for many years to come.
